Two cookies, and neither of them watches you

Last updated September 17, 2026. Part of our Privacy policy.

The short version

We set two cookies. One keeps you signed in; the other protects a Google sign-in while it is happening. Both are necessary for the site to work, which is why there is no banner asking you to accept them.

There is no advertising here, no third-party analytics, and nothing that follows you to other websites.

1. Every cookie we set

NameWhat it is forHow long
sb-…-auth-tokenKeeps you signed in. Set by Supabase, our sign-in provider, and refreshed as you use the site.Until you sign out, or it expires
ripping-google-stateA one-time value that proves a Google sign-in came back to us from the same browser that started it. Deleted the moment sign-in finishes.10 minutes

That is the whole list. If it ever grows, this page changes with it.

2. What we keep in your browser

Some things are kept in your browser's own storage rather than in cookies. They never reach our servers and are readable only by this site on this device:

  • Whether you prefer light or dark, and whether the sidebar is collapsed.
  • Whether you are previewing apps at phone or desktop width, and your build quality setting.
  • A prompt you typed before signing in, so it is still there afterwards.
  • Which automatic checks you have turned on, and tips you have dismissed.

Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it, and nothing important is lost.

3. Cookies in the apps you build

An app you build on Ripping can set its own cookies and storage. Apps from our starter keep a sign-in token and the app's own records in browser storage; the preview does the same in a sandboxed frame that cannot reach your Ripping session.

If you publish an app that sets cookies, telling its users about them is your responsibility, not ours. You are the one running that app. See section 4 of the Privacy policy.

4. What we do not use

  • No advertising cookies, and no ad networks.
  • No third-party analytics or tracking pixels. Product events are counted in our own database.
  • No cross-site tracking, no data brokers, and nothing sold to anyone.
  • No fingerprinting, and no session recording.

5. Turning them off

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Privacy or Site settings. You are welcome to.

Be aware that blocking the sign-in cookie means you cannot stay signed in, which makes the account side of Ripping unusable. The public pages, including this one, work fine without any cookies at all.

6. Changes

If we add a cookie, it appears in the table above and the date at the top changes. If we ever added something that tracked you, we would ask first, because that is a different promise from the one on this page.
